Leaving Erica’s house, my mind couldn’t get off that Diane chick. If that bitch was a friend, then I was certainly the new Virgin Mary. I’m usually a good judge of character and when a bitch is worried more about what you have, and constantly telling you to leave your marriage, that’s a sure sign of them wanting what you've got. I just needed to get out of my feelings and talk to one person I knew I could go to for this type of advice.

"Call Elise,” I spoke into my car’s Bluetooth. After the third ring, Elise’s voice sang in my ear as always.

“Heeeey baby sis, what’s up?” she said, sounding so happy.

“Well, I’m just leaving Erica’s house and I needed to run some stuff by you,” I said, waiting on her response. She didn't say anything. “Hello…? Elise, are you still there?”

“I’m here, I’m just waiting on you to cut it with the bullshit,” Elise said, sounding completely uninterested. “Look, we had what I thought was a step in the right direction and all of a sudden, Erica shuts us out again. I called and sent text messages to her and if she replied to me, this wall I’m looking at talked to me today. I mean, if she’s still holding on to shit that’s clearly in her head, I can’t help her. I can love her from a distance, but I have a family of my own that I’m raising and if she don’t want to be a part of our lives, I won’t force her, it’s her loss. And what’s really fucked up is that my boys will miss out on an aunt and that shit hurt," Elise said, sounding hurt, which was a shock to me because she was always the strongest. Being the oldest, she was the example for both Erica and I.

“Please hear me out before you say anything else. I know how you feel about Erica's ways believe me, I do, but it’s much deeper. She needs us and after today I refuse to turn my back on my sister,” I said, hoping she would give me a chance to explain Erica’s side.

“Go ahead, I’m listening. But I have a patient coming in about fifteen minutes so make it quick.” I knew she meant business so I gave her the run down as fast as I could.

“Okay, so I get to Erica’s and you can clearly see that she’s been going through some shit, so I’m ready to be there for her. All of a sudden this bitch Diane get there, supposedly her friend or whatever, and this bitch constantly scanning her house, like she’s about to rob the place or something. Then she talking out the side of her face saying 'Girl, leave his dog ass blah blah blah.' But get this, bitch ain’t got man, firstly." I was telling Elise the story and hearing all the “humph's" and "un uh's” from Elise; I knew I had that bitch pegged right.
